After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe managed care landscape and the payer mix in the US, including payers, managed care providers, healthcare providers, and trade and distribution partners
  • Explain the different managed markets channels and their involvement in the utilization or buying process of pharmaceuticals
  • Define the roles of key players in the managed markets channels

Government Payers

This e-course focuses on the government-sponsored insurance environment. It helps teams understand the systems, components, and stipulations of Medicare and Medicaid as well as the Federal Markets.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the major government insurers
  • Describe the Medicare program and its components
  • Describe the Medicaid program and its management
  • Discuss the services provided by the Veteran's Health Administration (VHA) and its channels
  • Understand coverage provided  by the Department of Defense (DoD) and its TRICARE benefit
